DiMarzio Super Distortion 3-Pack (Rosebud '89)
This is a bundle of 3x DiMarzio pickups:
3x Super Distortions (also known as Dual Sounds)
While the Super 2 was the main sound on Jerry’s Tiger guitar from December of 1981 through July 1988, the super distortion was the first and last one he used throughout his career…From Waldotronics’ research, it seems Jerry switched away from these pickups in 81, then once again back to the Super Distortion (known as the Dual sound back then) from July 1988 and onwards. This change happened across all three Irwin guitars eventually, and in 1989 we see him going back to dual sounds/super distortions on wolf, tiger, and rosebud. This pickup bundle makes a great pairing with the wiring bundle if you’re looking to do your own DIY Jerry mods! If you’re looking for the Tiger bundle, look here.
About the Super 2:
If you love the sound of a Super Distortion® in the bridge, and you like hot middle and neck pickups, too, try a Super 2™. The Super 2™ takes the classic Super Distortion® sound and slides the EQ up in favor of the high end, so its brighter top and tighter bottom work to balance out the typical darker neck or middle position sound. The Super 2™ is just the pickup to add snap to a 25½” bolt-on. It works great in all three positions.
